DEIRDRE BRIGGS

Painting - for me - is a desire to share perception, to engage what is intuitively and personally sensed.  Growing up, I was surrounded by art, as both my parents were artists, and my approach  is rooted in traditional drawing and painting techniques. Botanical watercolors were my early paintings, an essentially scientific discipline that has allowed me the freedom to interpret and find my own voice, and as my style evolved I developed a love of poetry, which deeply influences my painting.
